Bespoke Project 06: A Patchwork Jacket for JOY (Anonymous)

It was such a JOY getting to create this very special jacket and trousers set for Henry - one half of the duo JOY (Anonymous).

Henry commissioned two jacket and trousers sets (one off white and one black) for him to wear on stage with the intension for them to evolve over time.

We wanted to represent the evolution of time time and their journey through patches. I sketched up six unique patches, each patch representing a location of a Joy (Anonymous) performances. As their journey continues more patches will added, allowing this piece to turn into a living archival piece.

We collaborated with the talented Ludio Studio to get the patches made. making this a truly South London–made piece.

The jacket and trousers themselves were designed and tailored to Henry to adapt to the movement he needs on stage.

You can now see Henry wearing it onstage at the Jazz Cafe on BBC Radio 1.

At Soder Studio, each bespoke commission is a deeply personal and collaborative experience, designed to bring your unique vision to life.

We begin with an in-depth consultation where we discuss your ideas, inspirations and needs. From there, we develop a curated mood board, explore fabric options, and present a series of initial sketches tailored to your aesthetic.

Once a direction is chosen, we construct a toile (a prototype made from calico cotton) to test the design and perfect the fit. This step allows you to see and feel the shape of your garment before any final fabrics are cut, ensuring every detail is refined to your satisfaction.

After adjustments have been made, we move on to crafting the final piece using your chosen fabric. Every garment is handmade with care in our London studio, using high-quality materials and expert techniques to ensure exceptional fit and finish.

The bespoke process typically takes several months from start to finish, depending on the complexity of the design and scheduling of fittings. However, the result is a truly one-of-a-kind garment, thoughtfully designed, beautifully constructed, and uniquely yours.

We’re now open for bespoke commissions for late 2026 & 2027!

Please email us at info@soder.studio to discuss.
